Ink Wolf II

Whereas the original Ink Wolf was primal and wild, this Ink Wolf II has been domesticated. The violent and hungry red and black have been tamed by the guiding spirit of man and shaped into a companion that can comfort in times of need but can still protect as well.

The splashing is downplayed and the wolf dominates the center of the image. This wolf is white and the lines are soft and curving and you can see the wolfish smile curving it's lips. Excellent detail in the wolf on this image. I particularly like the dark ink running up and over its right eye (on the left side of the image)... this wolf may be tamed and playful, but it remembers its origins and woe to those who harm the things this wolf loves.

Overall, this is a more whimsical piece that doesn't impact me quite the way the first did but it is still a very powerful piece that was executed masterfully.
