FAQ : What is O Ka-Fée ?

O Ka-Fée is the term concerning all my paintings done with coffee. It concerns the way of painting and of obtaining textures with coffee. It's about projections of coffee, which once in stains on the sheet, undergo injections of pigments. (Powder, colorex, watercolor.)

Textures realized by coffee by drying (more or less sweetened) are unique, they are more interesting than those realized with water.
The coffee is a rather complex medium has to master, it's necessary to know its reactions to be able to manipulate it with pigments, we learn it every day.

O Ka-Fée also concern my graphic style and the whole universe which gets free of it.  :)

The drawing is amazing. It looks so much like traditional asian art (chinese mostly), but with a modern twist. Maybe it's the twist in colours (pink at the surface of the water, so clever). It's so powerful in it's expression that maybe a clearer eye contact with the creature, would give it even more dynamism, bringing us closer to the fairy tale you want to embrace us in. I would recommend a little more white in the dragon's eye, because then our eyes would meet with (his/hers) and we would feel so drawn into the picture. I really enjoy the old paper style (and stain effects) you've created at the bottom. Overall, a true inspiration for us other artists :) Sincerely - Lady C

It's a beautiful piece of work. the colors pop nicely with the coffee background. The water and the brown background blend together nicely, and seem distort the body of the dragon in a way that makes it slightly more be realistic. And yet still give it a fantasy look and quality. The closed eyes give the dragon a serein and tranquil look, as if it were resting quietly on a beach.

Though the only thing striking me as odd about this piece is the arm resting on the body. I can tell in areas where the dragon curlers onto itself, but I don't know if it stretched out, or beginning to curl onto itself again.

overall however, it is a very striking piece of art.

Very interesting work. I like how you mix coffee and watercolour. The contrast between red and blue is very nice.

Your works are so beautiful/inspiring. The way you paint gives a striking sense of movement and flow, and I love the dreamy vibe of your impressionistic style ^^

I've never heard of using coffee to paint before, what wonderful results!

I appreciate that you made a Dragon Koi, which I think is an under served creature among mythical beings featured in artwork. To me, it seems like most people who are familiar with Dragon Koi pictures know of them because someone had a tattoo of one.

I'm drawn to the symbolism, transformation, rebirth, and resting after achieving hard goals. The color palette is superb. The red seems to bleed, as if the dragon has been in battle, the cool water is soothing its wounds. There is mystery in the depths and it leaves a place for the imagination of the viewer to wander. I like the composition. I'd like to see this piece in a frame on my wall, but I'm one of those broke starving artists lately lol

Keep up the good work,

Euh...
